The November-December show will feature the work of Patricia Bomberg-Roth,
accompanied by Juried Artists and the Millet House Art Collective

Show Title:  Circus

Patricia writes, “The world of a circus has many layers. It is all at once whimsical, vibrant, exciting, dangerous, and dark. Performers in a circus wear makeup and masks to transform themselves into characters. Their characters are able to take their audience to different places. A tight rope walker balances on a thin wire, a trapeze artist flies, a clown makes us laugh at ourselves. In ways we can all relate to balance, flight, and laughter. The Millet House Gallery seeks the submission of artworks that explore the theme of Circus, to support the featured artist. Artwork does not have to explicitly represent a circus, but the artist should be able to identify how the artwork relates to the theme.”

Submission Guidelines

  • Submit up to 3 artworks to SubmitMHG@gmail.com
  • Include: Artist name and Contact phone
  • For each submission include the following info:
    Title
    Medium
    Dimensions of each artwork (including frame)
    Price
    (Note: Artist 70%, Gallery 30% commission for each work sold)
  • Include images of artworks, no larger than 2 MB each
  • All 2-dimensional mediums are accepted, ideally no larger than 26 x 26 inches, including frame. However, 3-dimensional and larger works may be acceptable depending on space.
  • Work must be ready to display and hang. (Must have a hanging wire or bracket to attach to the wall)
  • No damaged work will be accepted.
  • Submit only if you are able to drop off and pick up your artwork to The Millet House Gallery located at 440 West 1st St, Mesa AZ

  • Submission Deadline: Sunday October 28, midnight
  • Notification date: Friday November 2, by midnight
  • Drop-off Dates:
    Sunday November 4, 2 pm – 7 pm
    Monday November 5, 10 am – 7 pm
  • Opening Reception: Friday November 9, 6 pm – 9 pm
  • Mesa Second Friday Night: Friday December 7, 6 pm – 9 pm
  • Closing Reception: Friday December 22, 6 pm – 9 pm
  • Pick-up Dates: Friday December 22, 9-10 pm, (After Closing Reception)
    Additional pick-up dates and times by arrangement.

Artists are expected to share the event, attend the opening reception, and schedule other open hours at least once. You are encouraged to offer workshops and to place items in the gift shop as well. We can’t sell art when the gallery isn’t open!

Craig Thornton, Featured Artist, writes that his exhibit willexplore the theme of identity as revealed through various figures in relation to beautiful yet harsh environments. Both the figures and the environments will draw from elements of fantasy and science fiction, filtering these items through my own lens to reveal a personal mythology.”

Please submit work that speaks to or explores the theme, Contemplation in the Wasteland.

2018 Call for Featured Artists

The Gallery is looking for featured artists to exhibit in 2018. Featured artists have been chosen for 2018. The Call for Featured Artists for 2019 will be posted in Fall 2018.
Featured Artist Responsibilities:
· Propose a theme for featured show.
· Create a Call for Art which will be in conjunction with the exhibit.
· Create an announcement for exhibition which will include featured artist and juried artist · Hang their own art.
· Must be able to fill the front room portion of the gallery.
· Take down their show and prep the gallery for next exhibition.
The Millet House Gallery liaison is available to help and guide the featured artist responsibilities
Submission Guidelines
· Submit a written proposal for the theme of the show. The proposal must include: Title of show, Description for theme of the featured artist show, and Description for Call for Art for juried accompanying artists.
· Contact info: Name, Mailing address, Email, Phone number, Website address
· Artist Statement; include picture of yourself
  • Submit 5 examples of recent work (preferably in the last 2 years) Each image can be no larger than 2MBs
Each submission must include:
Title
Medium
Dimensions of each artwork
  • All 2 dimensional mediums are accepted. No 3D work accepted at this time.
  • Submit only if you are able to prep, hang, and take down show at The Millet House Gallery, located at 440 West 1st St, Mesa AZ
  • It is preferred that featured artist be able to attend opening and closing of the show as well as volunteer for open gallery hours. (Hours vary and are flexible.) Submit ALL information to SubmitMHG@gmail.com

This 2019 Call for Art application does not commit The Millet House Gallery to enter into an agreement, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of the proposal to this request or in subsequent negotiations or to produce any contract for the project referenced herein.
The Millet House Gallery reserves the right to reject any or all applications, reissue the application process, revise the project terms. While reasonable care will be taken, The Millet House Gallery is not responsible for loss or damage to materials included with applications.
