Celebrate: an end-of-2020 Exhibit

As we emerge from the darkness that was 2020, let us celebrate with love and joy in our hearts. After all, as we move into the unknown of 2021, we might as well prepare for the good we hope will come. And at the Millet House, we are looking forward to 4th of July parties and to Fall shows in our gallery!

In designing this show, we offered artists a variety of prompts to use as desired, among them: Hope, Renewal, Sacred, Journey, Fortitude, Resolute, Reconnect, Transformation, New Beginnings, Joy. Here is what artists gave us in return.

Do you need a piece of art to remember 2020 by? Our view is that everyone is going to want at least one such piece. After all there will hopefully never be another year like this one! People are thirsty for art; artists know their role is to help people understand the times. We hope that you find and hold onto the piece that resonates with you, whether in one of our three online shows from 2020, our new Gift Shop, or elsewhere.

Piano Ensemble

Medium: Pastels on Poster Card
Size: 5×7
2016

A song, “Tell your heart to beat again” by Danny Gokey, inspired this piece.

This song and my art piece are prophetic in meaning: hold to the Future after all what we’ve been through. The Artist as myself is telling “Tell Your Heart To Beat Again.” I chose this art piece to exhibit because in 2016, this is my beginnings that took place in the crises I faced today going back 4 years from 2016-2020.
