Consider the reason you, as an artist, created a piece of art. If someone were to ask “why,” what would you tell them? Was it inspired by a dream or a memory? Were you experimenting with materials or a new direction or technique? Were you working from a reference photo to capture a moment in time?

For this show entitled “Why,” you may submit three pieces, but only one may be selected due to shared gallery space. For this reason, consider the size of your work. Paintings, watercolors or drawings are welcome. For each entry include a sentence, or paragraph explaining “Why” you did the art. Include titles, media, size and contact information. There is no entry fee, however art must be available for purchase at a commission of 30%.

The show itself will take place September 7-28 with a Opening Reception on September 7 and various art-related evenings throughout the month.
