April is Autism Awareness Month, and The Millet House is pleased to welcome Killian “Peach Cinnamon” Nauman, well known to the Valley arts community, as she designs a series of events to celebrate this “super wondrous spectrum.” Peach is joined by a committee of artists and musicians on and off the spectrum. In addition to art, she and her committee have planned a series of live virtual concerts, raffles of art, poetry and more! Enjoy and celebrate with us!
And please come to our Friday night Zooms to meet the artists and learn what they have in mind.
Zoom info for our weekly Open House will be posted each Friday.

With his Sunburst Project, Daniel Walters presents eight Sunbursts that he has made available to raise funds for The Millet House. Above: Sunburst #1. Beginning on Monday April 5 you will be able to purchase chances for $1. Add $5 to your favorite piece and you will have five chances; add $10 and you will have ten chances! And a quick reminder: Tuesday April 6 is Giving Tuesday! There are many ways to support The Millet House, but the Sunburst Project is a delightful option and we are grateful to Daniel. Moneyless

“Moneyless”
Working hard to maintain a norm
Not get it washed away in my brain storms
Loose footings make it hard to stand on Chaos reigns
In order to keep my dreams at hand I’m not counting the greens
Of the sands of time lost until our glass is empty
Here and now I appreciate the cost of joy and empathy
Scaling down obstacles to over stand the brick wall
Spinning my Gyro to keep balance and avoid the pitfalls
Pondering my bright eyes I keep my head up and represent proud
Wandering still the day tripper find my mind in the clouds
Running away from these rats a race in slow Mo
And pause to see Grace as I reflect a hobo
Clowning away my self respect to my peers to my view is see-through
Feeling the pain of others fears I sense a shame in me too
The downward spiral leaves a funny mess
One chasing passions tail dizzy money less

“Passage of Time”
We start the human race running at a pace in this place from birth
From first sight the eyes might shine bright our worth
In this cocoon of our bodies were morphing to fulfill our prime
Until we learn to break out of these constraints on the will of time
The sky has no limit only free space to fly
Out-of-the-box Livit expanding wings ready to try
Questions of self linger wanna shadow of doubt remains
Looking at our hourglass as the bringer now empty of its grains
From the first gasp it’s not the number we count breath‘s
Rather the moments that lapse that take it away before our deaths
Never counting what I have lost I cherish all my hours
in my element it’s a Home costs but here I draw my powers
On this ball rolling gravity will always follow course
Water and fire dance without controlling move by a wind force
In man versus nature project a never ending picture of strife
So be present with open arms to reflect a sharing the gifts of our life
