On January 17, Martin Luther King Day, we will be opening the gates to our Courtyard for “Making All Things New: Unity and Diversity.” The event will run from 10 am to 4 pm and will include an outdoor community workshop by artist Andrea Rogers, as well as an inspiring outdoor program featuring performances by Therosia Reynolds and Marva Harris!
Andrea’s project will begin at 10 am: throughout the course of the day, visitors will be able to help create two beautiful mosaics. Andrea writes, “Two benches will be restored with tiles of various colors around the phrases, UNITY on one and Unity in Diversity on the other. Community members will be installing the tiles and the benches will be grouted after drying.”
The program will begin at 2 pm. Both Therosia Reynolds and Marva Harris are gifted, inspiring performers and artists and are well known members of the Valley art community. We are fortunate to have their participation.
Plus, as always at The Millet House – yes, there will be snacks.
