Autumn Colors
Oil on Canvas, 16 x 20 inches, 2023
Why?
Autumn Colors is about paths. Paths that lead to discovery and the
unknown. What will the viewer discover around the bend, or just around the next corner?
My art is about exploration. Painting to me brings me into the present moment, allowing the
quiet space to find significance from everyday events. Whether serendipitous, life changing or
seemingly unimportant occurrences. Art helps me, and hopefully my audience, consider
different possibilities, different ways to look at life.
“Autumn Colors” is available for purchase

alive with color when conditions are right. This same scene during a dry season would show
completely different signs of life.

Surface Level
Acrylic on Canvas Board, 8 x 10 inches
Why?
“In 2022 I hope to be more creative, to be undoubtedly myself, and to recognize my worth.” I created this self-portrait painting on New Year’s Day of 2022, while dealing with the symptoms of Covid-19. I wasn’t able to leave the house, so I decided to paint how I was feeling in the moment. This painting represents the feeling of complacency. Of rising up to the surface level and feeling like there is no way to break through into feeling free from the constraints of your own thoughts. Not only was I feeling stuck emotionally, but physically as well due to quarantine. I was looking forward to the new year, to new opportunities, and to taking on new challenges.
“Surface Level” is available for purchase
$150.00

Dobbi
Crayon, Oil on Canvas; 16 x 20 inches, 2023
Why?
The work depicts the concept of a cartoon portrait. The concept of the image comes from the dog that our family took in for a short time. It is a gray-black dog with a neurotic personality. I painted the image almost completely to fill the frame. I wanted to emphasize the feeling that they wanted to jump out, so I filled the frame, but I didn’t want to be too much. The appearance of the work is like a coloring board, so I use dripping brushstrokes to try to destroy the structure of the picture so as not to be too complete, and also add crayon to increase the richness and readability of the picture.
“Dobbi” is available for purchase
$600.00

Portal
Acrylic on canvas, 12 x 12 inches, February 2023
Why?
I saw this portal during a meditation in December of 2022. I made a drawing of in crayon and soon after felt drawn to paint it as well. In May of 2023 while chanting Hare Krishna at a kirtan I went through the portal with my inner child, my inner loving parent, and reluctantly, my protective inner teen. I had the sensation of sliding down a large tube, both hands in the air, saying, “Wheeeee!” with a big smile on my face.
“Portal” is available for purchase

Life
Why?Making art is how I allow my parts to express themselves. My inner children come out and play. I allow them to choose and mix the colors, to pick the canvas, to pour the paint, to tilt the canvas and allow the paints to blend and swirl together as they move across the canvas. I still remember how much fun we had making this piece.

The Everywhere You Aren’t
Acrylic, Pastel, Mixed Media, 48 x 40 inches
